If you are a complete beginner or only know a little bit of Dutch, it is best to start at level 1. When you have learned Dutch before, please click here to find out which level will suit you best.

How many levels you should take, depends on the level of the exams. If you take the exams on A2 level, I recommend doing at least 4 levels (Beginners 1-3, and Intermediate 4). If you take the exams on B1 level, I recommend doing at least 7 levels (Beginners 1-3, Intermediate 4-6 and the Gevorderden level).

Please keep in mind that my courses are general language courses, for everyone who wants or has to learn Dutch. For te exams, you will also have to do some specific exam preparation. Please send me a message if you would like to find out more.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to book private classes at the moment, because I have a waiting list for over 1 year at the moment. The waiting list is closed as well. As soon as the waiting list opens again, I will let you know in my newsletter.

You can participate in the Gevorderden level as often as is necessary to reach B2 level. This is different for everyone: some students need more time for the final steps than others, based on their native language, their experience with other foreign languages, their feeling for the language and the amount of Dutch they hear and speak in everyday life. The content of the Gevorderden level is different each time the course takes place, so you can come back as often as you like.

If you would like to reach the Specialisten level (B2+), it is important that you practise your Dutch on a daily basis. At the end of each Gevorderden course, you will receive recommendations on how to practise when you are in between courses.

You can participate in the Specialisten level as often as you like. Some students might come back a few times a year to keep improving and specialising, whilst others only come back once every two years to maintain the level that they have reached (B2 or higher). Even when you speak a (foreign) language fluently, it is important to pay some attention to the maintenance of your skills. The content of the Gevorderden level is different each time the course takes place.

It is possible to cancel or change your registration until 14 days prior to the starting date of the course. Within 14 days prior to the starting date of the course, or when the course has already started, it is no longer possible to cancel or change your registration. Please read the general terms and conditions to learn more about the register and cancellation process.

The courses take place in a virtual classroom on Zoom. This means that you can follow the classes from wherever you are located.

In case you miss a class, I will make a recording of our Zoom session, so you can catch up by yourself with help of the study materials, video and the teacher’s notes.

When you are learning a new language, the best strategy is to create a daily study routine. After each class, you will do homework exercises that will take you 1-2 hours. Since you have 2 classes per week, the homework will take 2-4 hours per week.

You can receive a certificate of attendance upon request at the end of the course. Please keep in mind that if you need an official Dutch language certificate for work or studies, you will have to pass the governmental exams (Nt2 Staatsexamens).

In order to protect the amount of personal attention that each student receives, it is not possible to squeeze in a 7^th student in the group. When the course of your liking is full, you can send an e-mail to info@yourdutchteacher.com to be put on the waiting list.

If one of the registered students of a course cancels their registration, their spot will be offered to the first student on the waiting list. You can accept or decline the offer within 48 hours. If you decline the spot, or if you do not reply within 48 hours, the spot will be offered to the next person on the waiting list.
